Meghan McCain Believes ABC Did Not Handle Well Whoopi Goldberg’s Hurtful Comments
As a celebrity, everything that they say, especially when it’s an opinion from a huge personality, will be taken against them. That’s what happened when Whoopi Goldberg made an ignorant and hurtful comment about the Ho.lo.caust.
On a January’s 31st’s episode of “The View,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, “The Holocaust isn’t about race.” And when co-host Joy Behar asked her what it is about then, she responded with, “It’s about man’s inhumanity to man.”
Following the controversial comment, Goldberg apologized. She said:
“So yesterday on our show, I misspoke. I said that the H.ol.oc.aust wasn’t about race and it was instead about man’s inhumanity to man. But it is indeed about race, because Hi.tl.er and the Na.zis considered the Je.ws to be an inferior race. Now, words matter and mine are no exception. I regret my comments as I said and I stand corrected. I also stand with the Je.wish people, as they know, and as you all know because I’ve always done that.”
However, former “The View” co-host Meghan McCain felt that Goldberg’s apology was not enough. McCain wrote an essay published by The Daily Mail where she slammed ABC’s handling of Goldberg’s comments.
