‘NCIS’ Fans Are Arguing Over Who The Show’s Best Character is
NCIS, the popular CBS investigative TV drama series, has been entertaining audiences for 19 seasons. And, with a show as long as NCIS, fans get to meet a wide range of interesting characters. Some of these well-known characters have remained on the show throughout its entire run. Others, on the other hand, have only recently joined the team. Nonetheless, other NCIS characters played an important role early on in the series. After only a few seasons, I had to say goodbye to the team. Fans of the popular CBS series are now looking back at the show. Debating which character is the “best” so far in the series.
NCIS fans debate which characters were the “best” during the show’s 19-season run.
In a recent Reddit post, NCIS fans were asked to name their favorite character from the long-running CBS series. Of course, when discussing characters from a popular series like NCIS, it’s difficult to pick just one. And the thread that follows this request confirms this.
One of the newer players, Brian Dietzen’s Jimmy Palmer, is frequently mentioned in the recent thread. This character does not appear until the 21st episode of the first season. Palmer was supposed to be a supporting player at first. However, the role has evolved significantly over time. And he’s quickly become a fan favorite in the series.
“Palmer!” exclaims one NCIS fan in the Reddit thread.
“Nobody is more positive or happy!” continues the commenter.
Another frequently mentioned character in this thread is David McCallum’s Donald “Ducky” Mallard, who trained Palmer for his current position. This character was the first chief medical examiner on NCIS.
It’s Difficult To Pick An NCIS Favorite Because They All Play Important Roles In The Popular Series
When deciding on the best character for the show, one Redditor notes that they would have initially chosen Ducky or Mark Harmon’s Gibbs. The fan, on the other hand, quickly realized “just how much” of an impact Weatherly’s Dinozzo had on the series.
“I like having DiNozzo there,” the fan says. “It was only his involvement.”
Another fan agrees, stating that they never realized how important Tony’s role was in the series until he left. According to the fan, he was a great piece of comic relief, bringing a lighthearted element to NCIS.
“I think his light-hearted teasing dynamic with his junior teammates, as well as his established relationship with Gibbs, was an underrated dynamic,” the Redditor observes.
Other characters mentioned in the recent Reddit thread include Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David, Sean Murray’s Timothy McGee, Emily Wickersham’s Bishop, and, of course, Mark Harmon’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
