NCIS star Gary Cole to appear in new TV series away from CBS show
The actor plays Special Agent Alden Parker in NCIS
NCIS star Gary Cole may have only joined the CBS drama in 2021, but it’s hard to imagine the show without Special Agent Alden Parker now.
The actor made his debut on the show following Mark Harmon’s exit from the series, with Alden Parker stepping into Leroy Gibbs’ shoes as team leader. Gary is now preparing to film the upcoming 21st season following its renewal – but did you know he is also set to appear in a new TV show away from the long-running program?
Gary is due to appear in the upcoming miniseries, Waco: The Aftermath, which will air on Showtime on April 16. Watch the trailer for the new show below…

The five-parter is a sequel to the 2018 miniseries Waco, which dramatized the 51-day standoff between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and David Koresh’s religious faction, Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas in 1993, and resulted in a fatal fire.
The sequel portrays the aftermath and repercussions of the siege, including the trials of the surviving members of the Branch Davidians.
The synopsis reads: “Five-part drama series portraying the searing aftermath of the disastrous FBI 1993 standoff at the Branch Davidian compound – an event that galvanized American militia movements and helped radicalize Timothy McVeigh, Terry Nichols and many others.”
Bullet Train’s Michael Shannon is set to star in the series, playing FBI hostage negotiator Gary Noesner, while Romeo + Juliet actor John Leguizamo plays undercover ATF agent Jacob Vasquez and Billions’ David Costabile plays Judge Smith, who oversees the trial of Branch Davidians.
Succession actress J. Smith-Cameron will also appear in the series as leader and Prophetess of the religious faction, Lois Roden, while Gary Cole will play private investigator Gordon Novel.
The series will begin airing weekly from April 16, 2023, on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET/PT. T.
Gary isn’t the only NCIS star who has other projects in the works, as Katrina Law is also set to star in an upcoming short film directed by her husband Keith Andreen.
Titled Mayfly, the series sees a mysterious woman break into the home of a best-selling self-help author, forcing him to confront scars long thought healed.
