NCIS LA promo teases Callen’s explosive death as infamous villain returns for final season
The final season of NCIS: Los Angeles could end with the shocking death of team leader G Callen.
NCIS: Los Angeles’ latest teaser trailer may have set up the tragic demise of G Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell).
The special agent could finally unveil the remaining secrets of his past when Howard Pembrooke (Jere Burns) makes a surprise return.
However, their meeting will coincide with a devastating attack on the CIA culminating in a deadly shootout that leaves Callen helpless.
A synopsis for the episode, The Reckoning, reads: “When four people, including a CIA officer, are shot and killed in broad daylight, the NCIS team suspects the attacks have something to do with DRONA.
“Pembrooke meets with Callen and gives more insight into his past.”

The new trailer begins with Callen receiving a call from an unknown number from someone who knows his true Russian name, Grisha.
Meanwhile, Admiral Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) is stricken when he confirms four people have been shot dead by unknown assailants.
Later, Callen’s anonymous caller appears to have been Pembrooke, who reveals “killing machines” have “turned on me” when they meet in a parked van.
Earlier in the series, Pembrooke is revealed to have tortured Callen as a child as part of a secret program to create the perfect soldier.
The trailer concludes with a sneak peek at the action to come which kicks off when a group of armed men surround the van and open fire.
NCIS Los Angeles will come to an end this month
Callen is left momentarily defenceless and exclaims: “Give me my gun!”
NCIS: LA’s normally fearless team leader shows a rare moment of vulnerability while he screams for help, hinting his best days could be behind him.
Thankfully, he apparently retrieves his firearm as the next shot of the trailer shows Callen firing back at the approaching gunmen.
However, the mission literally goes up in flames as the footage ends with the van exploding.
NCIS LA: Will Pembrooke reveal more secrets from the past?
Callen has faced plenty of gunfire and explosions before, but all bets are off with just three episodes left of NCIS: LA’s 14th and final season.
As the agent was seen standing right next to the van just moments before it explodes there’s a strong chance he could be caught in the blast.
Normally, agents are presumed safe until NCIS’s producers release an official statement confirming an actor is stepping down.
But, as the series won’t be returning for a 15th instalment, the hit spin-off could be building up to a shocking twist ending for the team’s stalwart leader when he comes up against his old foe.
NCIS: Los Angeles season 14 continues Sundays on CBS in the USA.
