‘NCIS’ Star Michael Weatherly Reveals Heartbreaking News
NCIS and Bull star Michael Weatherly is mourning the death of his younger brother, Will Weatherly.
Michael shared the news of his brother’s passing on Twitter and noted that Will actually passed away in April. He wrote, “My younger brother Will Weatherly shed his mortal coil on April 20th, 2023 and now continues his journey through the universe.”
Michael continued, “He always liked to travel. As difficult as it is [to] say goodbye — for friends and family — we know there is a smile with his memory. Rest in peace, brother.”
So far, Michael has not shared a cause of death.
Many of Michael’s current and former co-stars quickly swooped in to offer support and condolences, including his NCIS co-star Tess Rutherford. She tweeted, “Michael, you always had his back. RIP little brother. ???????? Hope you’re dancing with the angels now… pain-free. ❤️.”
Michael is currently rumored to be in negotiations to return to NCIS after departing the show in 2016. The news of his return was first reported by RadarOnline so take that for what it’s worth. They claim that Michael has a few demands that the network isn’t sure they want to meet.
For starters, the outlet has reported that Michael wants to bring along Cote de Pablo who portrayed Ziva David, his love interest on the series, as part of his return deal. Plus, he wants Robert Wagner back too. Wagner starred as his character’s father.
A source told the outlet, “Michael loves to stir things up and get fans excited about his comeback, but he’s doing himself no favors by being so demanding. The bosses are tearing their hair out over their terms.”
With a writers strike now in the mix, Weatherly’s return to the NCIS universe seems like something of a pipe dream.
